Snowcaving! - Page 6 - Chango's Photos

2-4 Feb '08. Michael organized this awesome adventure getaway. We used his family's cabin at the foot of Mt.Rainier as a base. The "cabin experience" was great in itself, but the real goal was to climb high enough to the deep snow, burrow in, and sleep there ... because the cabin is too comfortable. ;-)

Chango > By the morning everyone's roof had caved in. But no one got really buried. Unfortunately, my cavemate, Will, got too scared by a long crack he noticed last night, and he decided to sleep outside. Poor Will. It was definitely much warmer inside. But we managed to melt him afterwards. ;-)

Chango > Cameron, the Cave Destroyer. I didn't want to destroy my own creation, but I let him do it.

Chango > Preparing to leave the snowcave village. This was with some mixed feelings. We were all frozen and eager to get back to the warm cabin but reluctant to leave behind this fairytale-like place.

Chango > This dry wood would have burned the whole night...
